Using Mediation

Workplace mediation can be used to resolve a whole range of issues, including:-

  • working relationship breakdowns
  • bullying and harassment claims
  • personality clashes
  • poor communication
  • rebuilding relationships following formal disciplinary or grievance procedures
  • long term sickness due to working relationships

So many issues can give rise to disputes in the workplace resulting in unpleasant and often unnecessary work tensions. What is important to one person may be trivial to another which can cause argument and disruption. Situations like these, that can occur at any level within an organisation, can be addressed quickly using HR Protocol.

There are situations that do not lend themselves to mediation and examples of these are:-

  • threatening behaviours make the parties feel that discussing the situation would be unsafe
  • the parties are unwilling to participate
  • if financial settlement is expected
